These homes are cute as a button…

November 9, 2011

One of my favorite builders, David Weekley has come to Tucker Hill in McKinney.  The first house Greg and I bought was a David Weekly patio house in Plano.  I loved that house.  I still drive by it and wish the current owner would sell it back to me.

If you don’t know Tucker Hill, it is a beautiful master planned community striving for a traditional neighborhood look and feel in McKinney, Texas. It is located north side of U.S. 380, between Custer Road and Highway 75, way north of Dallas.  Actually just down the road from the new Baylor Medical Center of McKinney, making me think it is poised to grow.

2Clarks Real Estate at Tucker HillThis community was featured in the Parade of Homes in 2008, and while it has struggled to take off in this economy, a drive through leaves you with that warm snuggly feeling you look for in these developments.  You will be pleasantly surprised by Tucker Hill’s attention to detail, walking trails, opens spaces and green preservation programs. Tucker Hill is zoned for Prosper ISD and plans an elementary school, a mixed-use Town Center, clubhouse and resort style swimming pools.   The first pool and splash park opened this summer to the communities delight.

The Houston based David Weekley Homes (DWH) has formed its reputation on building quality new homes and providing homebuyers with innovative floor plans and a long list of choices to personalize their new home.  DWH is a stable privately held home builder who has weathered the storm, building homes in 15 cities that their customers love.

DWH is a welcome addition to Tucker Hill introducing a much needed entry level price point without eroding the quality of home previously built in here.  These homes feature period-specific architectural details and styles, open floor plans, and front porch elevations.  Home size range from 1800-3200 sqft and range in price from $240,000 – $350,000.  The one draw back for these homes is that even for patio homes these lots are small, but if a little, low maintenance yard in on your wish list these homes are cute as a button.
